Shafaq News/ On Thursday, Turkish forces clashed with Kurdistan Workers’ Party’s (PKK) militants in Al-Amadiyah district, Duhok province, along Mount Matin.
Armed confrontations erupted around the villages of Koherzi and Blava, and residents in nearby areas reported constant machine-gun and medium-caliber gunfire despite heavy rainfall and snowfall.
Simultaneously, Turkish warplanes struck PKK positions on the Korsar peak of Mount Matin. Two powerful explosions rocked the Shiladze sub-district, shaking the nearby homes, though authorities confirmed no casualties so far.
The clashes come as Operation Claw-Lock (Pençe-Kılıt), launched in April 2022 to target PKK militants, continues to intensify in northern Duhok.
The operation has left local villages devastated, with civilians trapped in their homes amid relentless bombings.
While Turkiye claims success in striking PKK positions—a group designated as a terrorist organization by Ankara—military actions have also increased the suffering of civilians caught in the crossfire.
