Actor and television personality Ryan Thomas has paid tribute to his close friend Jake Hall following the former reality star’s sudden death in Majorca at the age of 35.
Hall died last week after sustaining fatal injuries at a holiday villa on the Spanish island, prompting an outpouring of grief from friends, family and former co-stars.
In a heartfelt social media post shared over the weekend, Thomas reflected on their long-standing friendship and revealed the final message Hall had sent him before his death. Alongside a black-and-white video montage featuring moments from their friendship, Thomas described Hall as someone with a unique presence and unforgettable charisma.
He wrote that he had been drawn to Hall from the moment they met, describing him as the kind of person who naturally stood out in any room. Thomas added that Hall’s personality left a lasting impression on everyone who crossed paths with him.
The former soap star also spoke about the strength of their friendship, recalling the regular conversations they shared and the bond they built over the years. He said they connected through similar values, close family ties and a shared desire to see the people around them succeed.
Thomas noted that although Hall was admired publicly for his style and television career, his greatest priority was always his family. He described Hall as deeply devoted to his parents and especially protective of his younger brother.
Part of the tribute focused on Hall’s eight-year-old daughter, River. Thomas pledged that she would continue to be surrounded by love and reminded of her father’s influence and character as she grows up.
The emotional post concluded with Thomas sharing the last text message he received from Hall. The message read: “I love you mate. More than you’ll ever know.” Thomas added that he was sending those same words back to his late friend.
Hall rose to fame after joining the cast of The Only Way Is Essex in 2015. During his time on the programme, he was in a relationship with fellow cast member Chloe Lewis before leaving the series in 2024. Outside television, Hall also launched the menswear brand By Jake Hall.
Tributes have continued to appear online in the days following his death. Misse Beqiri, the mother of Hall’s daughter, shared an emotional message on social media describing herself and River as “shattered” by the loss.
Posting family photographs, Beqiri reflected on their years together and said Hall would continue to live on through their daughter. She also thanked those who had reached out with messages of support during the difficult period.
