Jamie Lynn Spears became emotional while celebrating a major family milestone as her eldest daughter, Maddie Aldridge, graduated from high school with honors.
The actress and singer shared photos from the graduation ceremony on social media, marking the end of an important chapter for the 17-year-old. In one image, Jamie Lynn stood proudly beside Maddie, who wore a black graduation gown and cap over a matching dress. The teenager’s long blonde hair was styled in soft curls for the occasion.
Jamie Lynn chose a black mini dress accented with white ruffle details and paired the look with pointed black heels. She expressed pride in her daughter’s achievement while admitting the moment had left her emotional.
“She did it!!! GRADUATED w/ honors, and we couldn’t be more proud,” she wrote, adding that the day was “a little emotional too, but mostly proud.”
Several family members attended the celebration, including Maddie’s younger sister, Ivey Watson, and grandmother Lynne Spears. Jamie Lynn’s father, Jamie Spears, was also present in a wheelchair following the leg amputation he underwent in late 2023.
Also among the attendees was Sean Preston Federline, the son of Britney Spears, who came to support his cousin during the ceremony.
Jamie Lynn and Britney Spears have experienced a strained relationship in recent years, particularly after the end of Britney’s conservatorship in 2021. Despite public disagreements and tensions discussed in interviews and memoirs, Jamie Lynn has previously stated that she continues to support her sister.
She has described the family situation as deeply complicated and painful, while emphasizing that she will always care for Britney regardless of their differences.
The graduation also signals a major transition within Jamie Lynn’s household as Maddie prepares for life after high school. Jamie Lynn welcomed Maddie with former fiancé Casey Aldridge while starring on the television series Zoey 101.
