Kelly Ripa gave viewers a glimpse into her playful relationship with husband Mark Consuelos while reflecting on the couple’s recent 30th wedding anniversary celebration.
During a recent episode of LIVE, the longtime television host revealed details about an unconventional anniversary card she once gifted Consuelos, sparking laughter during an on-air conversation about dinosaurs.
Ripa described the card as featuring two Tyrannosaurus rex characters in a romantic scenario. In the joke printed inside, the female dinosaur says, “Pull my hair,” while the male dinosaur responds, “I’m trying.”
Consuelos confirmed that the humorous card remains one of his favorites. Ripa added that she discovered it during a visit to Palm Springs, joking that only adults should see it because of its cheeky humor.
The lighthearted exchange continued as the couple discussed dinosaurs earlier in the show. Ripa compared herself to a T. rex, joking that she has “short arms” relative to her body size and explaining that dinosaurs approached situations “headfirst.” Consuelos teased that her description sounded familiar to the way she interacts with him.
The pair recently marked their 30th wedding anniversary on May 1 with a special anniversary-themed episode of LIVE. During the broadcast, Consuelos celebrated the milestone by reflecting on their decades together, while Ripa joked about the unexpected success of a relationship that began when “two kids” met on a soap opera.
Ripa later described marrying Consuelos as the “smartest” and “best” decision of her life.
The couple first met while working on the daytime drama All My Children and married in 1996 after eloping in Las Vegas just one year later. Ripa has previously shared that their wedding ceremony cost only $179, and her wedding dress was purchased for less than $200.
Over the years, the couple have built both a family and a successful entertainment partnership together. They share three children — Michael, Lola, and Joaquin — and continue to co-host LIVE, often giving audiences candid insights into their marriage and family life.
Reflecting on their relationship, Consuelos described their decades together as “one big adventure,” while Ripa said their connection feels like a constant celebration, adding that “every day is our anniversary” in a way.
