TV Personality Opens Up About Fertility Struggles and the Importance of Sharing Her Story
Television personality Dylan Dreyer has shared an emotional account of one of the most difficult experiences of her life, revealing that she endured a miscarriage while trying to keep both her pregnancy and her loss private during a vacation with friends.

Speaking on a recent podcast, the 44-year-old recalled the heartbreaking period, explaining that she had chosen not to tell those around her she was expecting. Throughout the trip, she quietly avoided alcohol to conceal her pregnancy before learning that she had miscarried.

Dreyer described the emotional isolation she experienced while surrounded by people enjoying their holiday. Although everyone around her was celebrating and relaxing, she was privately coping with overwhelming grief and severe physical pain.
She admitted that the physical effects of miscarriage came as a shock, saying she had not realized how painful the experience could be. Unable to share what she was going through at the time, she spent much of the trip suffering in silence while wishing she could confide in someone.

The broadcaster is now the mother of three sons—Cal, Ollie, and Rusty—whom she shares with her former husband, Brian Fichera. The couple announced their separation in 2025, and divorce proceedings were filed in March 2026 after more than a decade of marriage.
Dreyer also reflected on the fertility challenges she faced after welcoming her first child in 2016. She revealed that becoming pregnant again proved difficult, and she experienced multiple pregnancy losses during that period.
She explained that fears of being judged prevented her from speaking openly about secondary infertility. Despite already being a mother, she worried that others might not understand her desire to expand her family while many people struggle to have children at all.

According to Dreyer, doctors later discovered that scar tissue left from the birth of her first son had been affecting her fertility. After undergoing treatment to remove the scar tissue, she was able to conceive again, eventually welcoming her second and third children.
Looking back, she said sharing personal experiences surrounding infertility and pregnancy loss can help others recognize potential medical issues and encourage them to seek professional advice. She believes that open conversations about these challenges can reduce stigma and provide hope to families facing similar struggles.
The television host’s journey has resonated with many parents who have experienced pregnancy loss, highlighting both the emotional and physical realities of miscarriage while encouraging greater awareness of fertility-related health issues.
