Don’t fly your drone into an active wildfire. Although capturing video of the devastation can be tempting, it could stop firefighters from doing their job. That’s exactly what happened in Los Angeles on January 9 when a drone collided with a ‘Super Scooper’ firefighting plane, The L.A. Times reports.

This happened as L.A. fights its worst wildfire in history, burning thousands of homes and killing at least 10. The drone collision forced the plane to abort its mission and touch down elsewhere for repairs. Photos of the plane show a noticeable hole in one of  its wings:

Police are now trying to found out who was flying the drone, The L.A. Times reported, and the incident is under investigation by the FAA. The L.A. Fire Department warned that flying a drone during firefighting efforts is punishable by up to 12 months in jail or a $75,000 fine.
