The Initiative to Stop Executions has announced that 15 Kurdish and Iranian political prisoners, including Pakshan Azizi, Warisha Muradi, and Sharifa Muhammadi, are facing the threat of execution in Iran, calling for urgent intervention.

The threat of execution against political prisoners in Iran is growing. In its latest statement, the Initiative to Stop Executions emphasized that 15 political prisoners, including Pakshan Azizi, Warisha Muradi, and Sharifa Muhammadi, are at risk of being executed, stressing that the situation of the three female prisoners is particularly critical.
The organization called on the United Nations, international human rights organizations, and civil society groups to respond urgently and forcefully against the death penalty practices in Iran.
Meanwhile, two more political prisoners have been executed in Iran. Behruz Ihsani and Mehdi Hasan were recently executed in Kazaihsar Prison in Karaj.
Mehdi Hasan, born in 1976, was a father of two and was detained in Zanjan in 2022. Behruz Ihsani, 64 years old and from Tehran, was arrested at the end of 2022. Both were sentenced to death on political charges.
