A 30-member guerrilla group, including KCK co-chair Besê Hozat, held a ceremony today in the Şikefta Casenê (Casenê Cave) in the village of Surdaş, in the Dukan district of Sulaymaniyah, following the historic call made by Leader Apo on July 9, and burned their weapons.
Ako Xerîb, Director of the Sulaymaniyah National Security Museum, announced that the burned weapons will be kept in the Casenê Cave.
Xerîb said: “There was initially a decision to transfer the burned weapons to the Emnê Sureke National Museum to be displayed and preserved. However, that decision was later changed. According to the new decision, the burned weapons will be preserved at the place where they were burned, which is the Casenê Cave. On July 12, a procedure will be established to designate a special area for the protection of the weapons, and a decision will be made on how they will be preserved.”
