In a written statement on Monday, the Kurdish Democratic Community Centre (NÇDK)-Scandinavia invited Kurds and their friends to participate in the demonstrations to be held in Stockholm, Malmö and Oslo on 2 November demanding the physical freedom of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The NÇDK called on the Kurdish people and their friends in Sweden, Norway and Denmark to participate in large numbers and to show their commitment to Abdullah Öcalan in the strongest way possible.

The 2 November demonstrations will take place as part of the international campaign launched on 10 October 2023 under the slogan ‘Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, a Political Solution to the Kurdish Question’.

The NÇDK emphasised that the campaign is of historical importance both for the Kurdish people and for all humanity. The statement said that the campaign offers an important opportunity to end the isolation in İmralı and ensure the physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan.

NÇDK-Scandinavia stated: “As the Kurdish people living in Scandinavia, our only goal is to achieve the physical freedom of Leader Öcalan. We will continue our struggle for the destruction of the İmralı system and a solution to the Kurdish question until we get results. By ensuring the strongest participation in the demonstrations in Stockholm, Malmö and Oslo, we must say ‘stop’ to all the injustices done to our people in the person of Leader Öcalan.”
