During a meeting with a delegation from the DEM Party, KDP President Massoud Barzani said that he could visit Abdullah Öcalan if the appropriate conditions were met.

Massoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), received a delegation from the DEM Party in Salahaddin district of Hewlêr (Erbil) on Friday.
The delegation included politicians Ahmet Türk, Leyla Zana, Sırrı Sakık, DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar, DEM Party MP Meral Danış Beştaş, and the party’s Foreign Relations Officer Berdan Öztürk.
The delegation thanked Barzani for his support for the peace process in Turkey and conveyed Abdullah Öcalan’s request to meet with him.
Barzani stated that the steps taken within the scope of the peace process were correct and that patience and diligence were required for it to reach a positive outcome. The KDP leader noted that he would spare no effort for the success of the resolution process.
Regarding Öcalan’s request for a meeting with his person, Barzani stated that the visit could take place if appropriate conditions were met.
