The Imralı Delegation of the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) issued the following statement regarding their meeting with Leader Apo held yesterday:on Friday 25 July:
“To the Press and Public,
As the DEM Party Imralı Delegation, we held a three-and-a-half-hour meeting with Mr. Abdullah Öcalan on July 25, 2025, at Imralı Prison.
We exchanged views regarding our recent meetings as a delegation with the President, the Minister of Justice, and leaders of political parties.
We conveyed impressions and reflections on the July 11 ceremony for the destruction of weapons. Mr. Öcalan expressed that he found the manner in which the ceremony was conducted, as well as the will, conviction, and determination for peace shown, to be highly valuable.
He emphasized his expectation that the commission work currently on the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) will contribute significantly to peace and democracy through a comprehensive and inclusive approach.
He extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the public and all segments of society.
