A delegation consisting of 7 people is having a meeting with the Kurdish People’s Leader, Abdullah Öcalan, in İmralı F Type High Security Closed Prison. After the meeting, the delegation will convey a historic call from Öcalan in Istanbul, at 17:00 local time.
The delegation consists of Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Pervin Buldan, DEM Party co-chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan, Ahmet Türk, DEM Party Istanbul MP Cengiz Çiçek and lawyer Faik Özgür Erol from Asrin Law Office.
The long-awaited call will be watched live on giant screens in seven cities in North-East Syria.
Giant screens have been set up in Qamishlo, Hesekê, Dêrik, Raqqa, Tabqa, Kobanê and Aleppo.
According to the Organizing Committee, the giant screens have been set up at the following locations:
Qamishlo: 12 March Martyrs Stadium
Hesekê: 4 April Park
Dêrik: Freedom Park
Tabqa: Ittihad Stadium and sports complex for Afrin-Shehba refugees
Raqqa: Municipal Stadium
Kobanê: Free Women’s Square
Aleppo: Al-Zaytouni Square
