The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria said that Turkish soldiers opened random fire from the border with Kobanê, severely wounding a child.

The General Command of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria said in a statement that an attack took place on Monday, 25 August, at around 9:30 p.m. According to the statement, Turkish soldiers fired randomly from the other side of the border toward the city of Kobanê. The attack resulted in a 15-year-old boy who was inside a shop being seriously injured.
The wounded child was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
The Internal Security Forces described the attack as “a blatant violation of international conventions that protect human rights.”
The statement added: “By blatantly violating international conventions that protect human rights, Turkish soldiers carried out an attack targeting civilian lives in North and East Syria. We condemn these attacks that threaten the lives of innocent civilians, and we once again emphasize our determination to protect our people and to strengthen security and stability in the region.”
