Saeed Ohadi, Director of the Martyrs and Veterans Foundation, said in an interview with state television on Monday, “As of this evening, we have buried 1,060 martyrs across the country.”

According to the previous official toll, at least 935 people were reported killed in the war that began with Israel’s attack on June 13 and ended with a ceasefire on June 24.

During the 12-day war, Israeli attacks killed several high-ranking officials, including commanders of the Revolutionary Guards and around ten nuclear scientists.

On the early morning of Monday, July 7, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian accused Israel of attempting to assassinate him.

In an interview with American host Tucker Carlson, Pezeshkian said, “They tried, they acted, but they failed,” referring to the attempt during a meeting.
