372 of the 416 people taken into custody for wanting to go to Taksim on 1 May were released. 44 people still in police custody.

Scores of people were taken into custody on 1 May while trying to demonstrate in Taksim Square.
372 of the 416 people taken into custody were released after security procedures. Eight people were referred to the TEM (counter-terrorism directorate), while 36 people will be referred to the courthouse on charges of “Violation of the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations”.
