The Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria described the massacre targeting civilians by Damascus forces on Saturday evening as a “barbaric attack”, and called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities.

On the evening of Saturday, 20 September, forces affiliated with the interim government in Damascus carried out an attack in the village of Um Tine, in Dêr Hafir, killing 7 civilians.
The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria said: “We strongly condemn these barbaric attacks. This assault is a sign of the continuation of a hostile approach against our people.”
The statement continued: “In this period when our country is going through a sensitive process, everyone must engage in efforts free from violence and denial for a secure future. The perpetrators must be brought before justice and punished. We also call on the international community to fulfill its moral and humanitarian responsibilities toward civilians.”
