The global campaign ‘Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, a Political Solution to the Kurdish Question’ continues to organize rallies, marches and events in different countries around the world.
A march will be held in Cologne on 16 November following the ‘Freedom will win’ rally held in Amed. Within the scope of the events of the campaign, Kurds living in Scotland, Wales and England will meet in London on Sunday, 10 November, and will hold a march and rally.
Preparations are underway for the march, which will start in front of the London BBC building and end in Trafalgar Square. The action will be organized by the Kurdish People’s Assembly of Britain and its components. As part of the preparations, buses will arrive in London from Scotland, Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield and Brighton, England.
The Kurdish People’s Assembly of London is working hard to prepare the march and rally, and to ensure the participation of components, such as the Revolutionary Youth Movement of Britain, the Jiyan Women’s Assembly, the KHM Foreign Affairs Commission, Kongra-Star and PAJK.
As part of the preparation work, the organizers will visit many homes, workplaces and institutions in the North London area, where Kurds live the most, until 10 November, to both explain the aims of the ‘Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan’ international campaign and invite people to attend the march.
A press release was made by the Kurdish People’s Assembly at the Kurdish Community Centre building. Türkan Budak and Seyit Suruç, co-chairs of the Kurdish People’s Assembly of Britain read the statement that underlined how the global initiative to demand freedom for the Kurdish people’s leader was launched together with international friends of the Kurds in 2023 and had a great impact all over the world. The statement said: “The absolute isolation imposed on Leader Öcalan continues. You cannot deceive the Kurdish people by having a meeting with the Leader. The Kurdish people will grow and develop the struggle until the Leader is free and are determined to break down the gates of Imrali with their organized power and to free their Leader.”
‘We will be in front of the BBC building on 10 November’
The statement added: “We will gather in front of the BBC building in London on Sunday, 10 November, as part of the actions organized by the global initiative for the freedom of Leader Öcalan. We invite all friends of the Kurdish people, revolutionary democracy forces and our patriotic people to attend the march and rally.”
The Kurdish People’s Assembly held a meeting after the press release to discuss the organizational details of the march with all its components at the KCC building.
Ercan Akbal from the Kurdish People’s Assembly said: “The Turkish state and the entire world should know that the leader, will and negotiator of the Kurdish people is Leader Öcalan.”
