The Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Youth Assembly and the Democratic Institutions Platform will organize a Peace and Democratic Society March and a concert in Amed tomorrow, 14 August. At 7’m, participants will gather in front of the DEM Party’s provincial office and march to City Square. Leaflets about the march were distributed across all districts of Amed, inviting residents to take part in the activity.
Bismil
In the Bismil district, Bismil Municipality co-mayors, the Free Women’s Movement (TJA), DEM Party, DBP district co-chairs, and local administrators visited shopkeepers to distribute flyers for the march and concert. Party members called for strong participation in the events to be held in Amed. Emphasizing the importance of the Democratic Society March and concert, the co-mayors stated that this is a day to bring organized struggle into the public squares.
The statement noted that vehicles would be provided in front of the DEM Party district office for citizens without transportation, and called for participation from all residents “from 7 to 70.”
Kayapınar
In the Peyas (Kayapınar) district, markets and shops were also visited. DEM Party Amed MP Adalet Kaya, Peyas Municipality co-mayors, and members of the Democratic Institutions Platform took part in visits to shopkeepers and residents, highlighting the importance of the march and calling for everyone to gather in front of the provincial office on August 14. During these visits, evaluations were also made regarding the current situation, and the importance of local participation in the march was underlined.
Meanwhile, residents in other districts of Amed were also invited to the march and the concert. In this context, leaflets were distributed, calling on people to attend the march.
