The commander of the Suwayda Military Council, Tariq al-Shoufi told ANHA that “Tribes and security forces are continuously violating the ceasefire. Most recently, they entered the Qurbe Necran area with medium-caliber weapons, attacked civilians’ property, looted, burned, and destroyed the village.” He added that a similar violation near Til Hedid, in the village of Til Eqerai, was prevented by their forces.

Emphasizing their commitment to the ceasefire and international agreements, al-Shoufi said that dozens of villages have been destroyed and massacres against civilians have been documented. “The people and the Druze are facing massacres carried out by the security forces,” he said, calling for international investigation teams to examine the violations on the ground.

Al-Shoufi added that civilians and fighters will continue to be protected, and that they are ready to coordinate with the International Coalition and “friendly states” to ensure security. He stressed that their forces will not move beyond the village and city limits of Suwayda.

Clashes in Suwayda began on 13 July, when transitional government forces and affiliated armed groups attacked the area. Violence escalated when local fighters responded. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), at least 1,568 people have been killed so far in the attacks.
