Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth has shared a memorable parenting mistake that resulted in an unexpected travel setback for him and one of his children.
Speaking about the incident, Hemsworth recalled arriving at the airport only to discover he had brought the wrong passport for his son. The error quickly became apparent during the check-in process when airline staff noticed the passport belonged to his daughter instead.

The mix-up prevented both Hemsworth and his son from boarding their scheduled flight, turning what should have been a routine journey into a frustrating experience. The actor admitted that he initially believed the passport was correct before airport officials pointed out the mistake.
Despite the travel mishap, Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Pataky, remain focused on raising their three children with strong values and a grounded outlook on life. The couple, who share daughter India, 14, and 12-year-old twins Sasha and Tristan, have often spoken about the importance of gratitude and hard work.

Hemsworth has emphasized that although his family’s financial circumstances differ significantly from those of his childhood, he wants his children to understand the value of earning success rather than taking privileges for granted. He has credited his parents for instilling qualities such as kindness, respect, and humility during his upbringing.
Reflecting on his early years, the actor noted that family vacations were rare and carefully planned due to limited financial resources. Those experiences, he said, helped shape his perspective on responsibility and appreciation.

The family’s lifestyle in Byron Bay, Australia, plays a significant role in reinforcing those values. Surrounded by nature, the Hemsworth-Pataky household spends much of its time enjoying outdoor activities, including surfing, fishing, horseback riding, camping, hiking, and motorbike riding.

Hemsworth has also shared amusing stories about his children’s growing independence. While daughter India previously appeared alongside him in the 2022 film Thor: Love and Thunder, convincing her to return for a role in Avengers: Doomsday required some negotiation. According to the actor, the prospect of earning money toward a motorbike eventually persuaded her to join the production.
Living away from major cities has allowed the family to maintain a close connection to the outdoors, a lifestyle both Hemsworth and Pataky say has become central to their everyday lives. The couple believes that regular exposure to nature helps keep their family grounded despite the demands and attention that come with international fame.
