The Preparatory Committee for the “Common Position Conference” of the components of North and East Syria has announced the date and venue of the conference.
According to the committee, the conference will be held on Friday, August 8, in the city of Hesekê.
The Kurdish, Arab, Syriac-Assyrian, Armenian, Yazidi, Turkmen, and Circassian components in North and East Syria began preparations for the conference in June (2025).
The conference will be held under the motto “Together, with diversity that strengthens our unity and cooperation that builds our future.”
In a statement made yesterday (August 5), Cîwan Mela İbrahim, member of the Preparatory Committee and co-chair of the Autonomous Press Office of North and East Syria, said, “After the collapse of the Baath regime, attempts to sow discord among the peoples of Syria have increased. Through this conference, the participants want to develop a common position for the construction of a decentralized democratic Syria.”
Many prominent figures from social, cultural, religious, and opinion-leading circles have been invited to the conference. Between 400 and 500 delegates are expected to attend.
