The Central Executive Committee (MYK) of the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) convened at its headquarters under the chairmanship of Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan.
The meeting will assess political and social developments in the world, the Middle East, and Turkey. The most important agenda item will be developments within the Peace and Democratic Society Process in Turkey.
In particular, the recent meeting with Abdullah Öcalan and the recently established “National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission” in Parliament will be discussed in detail.
The MYK will also discuss the 12-article regulation that determines the working procedures and principles of the commission and the commission’s roadmap henceforward.
The public meetings initiated at the call of Abdullah Öcalan will also be on the agenda of the meeting.
The DEM Party, which held more than 2,000 meetings in cities across Turkey and Kurdistan in June and July, will evaluate the reports and analyses produced during these meetings.
The MYK will also discuss the action calendar for August and the period up to September 1. During this period, it is expected that the agenda will focus on prisoners, with plans for rallies and marches.
