In the southern Syrian city of Suweyda, Transitional Government forces and affiliated armed groups violated the ceasefire once again and attacked villages in the region.
According to a report by ANHA news agency citing local sources, forces affiliated with the Transitional Government and armed groups opened fire on the village of Najra from their positions in the western countryside. At the same time, the villages of al-Majdal and Walgaya were also targeted from the Mazraa front.
According to reports, the attacks were not limited to these areas, and armed groups stationed in the villages of Dama, Jadal, and al-Shaykh carried out intense shelling on the town of Ariqa. Reports are coming through of brief clashes as tensions remain high in the area.
Despite the ceasefire agreement in place in Suweyda for some time, violations by the Transitional Government forces and allied armed groups are increasing the likelihood of renewed conflict in the region.
