The freedom fighters, consisting of 15 women and 15 men, first watch a video message from Abdullah Öcalan. As he begins to speak, the guerrillas chant slogans such as “Long live Leader Apo,” “With our lives, with our blood, we are with you, the Leader!” “No life without the leader,” “Jin, Jİyan, Azadi,” and “Long live the Kurdistan Workers’ Party.”
Following the screening of Abdullah Öcalan’s video, KCK Executive Council Co-Chair Besê Hozat addresses the guerrillas and says the following:
“We are gathered here today for a very important and historic task. As you all know, the process began in 2024. For over a decade, our people and our movement have been facing a comprehensive campaign of annihilation and genocide carried out by the Turkish state. However, despite these attacks, the Turkish state has failed to achieve its objectives. All their plans have been thwarted, and they have not been able to achieve the results they sought.
The guerrillas put up tremendous resistance during this process. We salute all our comrades who carried out the resistance and honor our fallen comrades with respect and gratitude. Thanks to their sacrifices, the enemy’s plans were foiled. They faced serious setbacks, particularly in Metîna and Zap. Their goal was to reach Qandil within three years. However, this plan did not work out.
This resistance grew not only in the mountains, but also in the hearts of the people. Our people have always stood strong in the four parts of Kurdistan and provided strong support for the struggle. The resistance of the guerrillas gave our people great courage and hope. Thanks to this common will, our movement is still alive today and continues on its path with renewed strength.
Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan] says, “Communes must be established everywhere.” This expresses the will for self-administration and self-governance. This is the line of autonomy. Our movement wants to spread this line not only in Kurdistan, but also in Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. In this way, he aims to liberate Kurdistan and ensure the democratization of the peoples of the region.”
The guerrillas watching Öcalan’s video message and listening to his voice are observed to be excited and enthusiastic. The guerrillas state that this step is a new beginning, a new birth, saying, “We are going to fan the flames lit by Mazlum, Zekiye, and Rahşan. We are going to carry out Leader Apo’s instructions.”
