Five consecutive explosions were heard over Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, on Friday, eyewitnesses told Shafaq News.
No official statement had immediately identified the cause of the explosions or reported casualties or damage.
Air defenses had intercepted five explosive-laden drones over the city on July 22.
