Internal Security Forces have foiled an armed attack on a checkpoint in the eastern Syrian region of Deir ez-Zor. Two attackers on motorcycles are reported to have fled. The investigation is ongoing.

The Internal Security Forces of the Autonomous Region of North and East Syria have repelled an armed attack on a checkpoint in the canton of Deir ez-Zor. According to a statement by the Internal Security Forces General Command, two armed men on motorcycles attacked a checkpoint in the village of Sabha on Monday evening.
Internal Security Forces responded immediately, causing the attackers to flee. According to the statement, there were no injuries among the forces deployed.
The General Command announced that it would continue investigating the incident in order to fully clarify the circumstances surrounding the attack. At the same time, security at the checkpoint in Sabha has been reinforced. The goal remains to ensure the long-term safety of the civilian population in the region.
