The “No to Execution on Tuesdays” Campaign reported in a statement that 71 people have been executed in Iran and Eastern Kurdistan since the beginning of July.

According to the statement on Tuesday, pressure on political activists and prisoners participating in the “No to Execution on Tuesdays” campaign has increased while prisoners’ relatives are increasingly subjected to threats and detentions.

The statement said: “The government wants to spread fear. The shooting of a small child named Reha Şêx is the clearest example of this brutality. The government wants to spread fear in this way to silence reactions, freedom, and human dignity. The government cannot take people’s lives. The fundamental rights of prisoners are being violated. Our cry ‘No to the Death Paenalty’ will continue until executions in Iran and Eastern Kurdistan come to an end.”
