As part of preparations for intensifying the conflict in Gaza, the Israeli government will approve the mobilization of 430,000 reserve soldiers by the Minister of Defense by November 30, 2025.
The government’s legal advisor, Gali Baharav-Miara, said the decision posed “serious legal and social challenges,” emphasizing that the burden on soldiers had been increasing for about a year and a half. However, he said there was no other option given the current security conditions.
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir demanded the immediate dissolution of the Palestinian Authority during a cabinet meeting in response to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ plans to declare a unilateral Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly. Ben Gvir described this as “the end of the terrorist authority.”
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have launched a surprise drill involving multiple scenarios to test its preparedness for sudden and large-scale incidents. The drill is being supervised by retired Major General Ofer Shrira and a team of active and reserve soldiers.
