Jenna Bush Hager is adding another major television project to her growing list of entertainment ventures after NBC confirmed it will move forward with the drama series Line of Fire for the 2026–2027 broadcast season.

The series, which features Jenna as an executive producer, has officially secured a place in NBC’s upcoming lineup. The network has not yet confirmed whether the show will premiere during the fall schedule or arrive later in the midseason slate, with a formal programming announcement expected later this month.

Line of Fire centers on a family deeply connected to federal law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, U.S. Marshals, Secret Service, and Department of Justice. The story follows the family as professional duties and personal tensions collide while they investigate a case that evolves into a dangerous conspiracy.

The official premise describes how the agents are forced to cross ethical and professional boundaries to uncover the truth and protect one another, even if doing so challenges the code they have sworn to uphold.

The cast includes Peter Krause, Hope Davis, Kat Cunning, Tommy O’Brien, Taylor Bloom, and Charlie Barnett. The series is written by Josh Safran and directed by Rebecca Thomas. Jenna shares executive producer duties with Ben Spector, while Universal Television is producing the project.

Jenna celebrated the announcement on social media, praising the creative team behind the series and sharing her excitement over the show’s pickup.

Expanding Beyond Morning Television

Best known as a co-host on the fourth hour of the Today show, Jenna has increasingly moved into scripted television and film production in recent years.

Speaking about her transition into producing, Jenna acknowledged the long development process behind the project and expressed enthusiasm about taking on a new creative role within the entertainment industry.
