Journalist Ali Barış Kurt, was detained in Istanbul yesterday after 2 year and 4 month prison sentence handed to him was upheld by the Court of Cassation.
Kurt, facing charges over his posts on the social media, was taken to Istanbul Bostancı District Security Directorate.
Ali Barış Kurt was referred to Kartal Courthouse today and remanded in custody after the verdict was read. The journalist was sent to Maltepe L Type Closed Prison No 1.
