The Confederation of Public Employees’ Trade Unions (KESK) Amed Branches Platform confirmed they will go on strike tomorrow, Monday, to protest the government’s wage proposal for public servants. KESK Term Spokesperson Serdar Keskin said that according to the first offer announced by Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, the proposal included a 10% increase for the first half of 2026, 6% for the second half of 2026, and 4% for both the first and second halves of 2027.

Keskin labeled the offer, which meets not even a quarter of KESK’s demands, as “poverty offer” by public employees, retirees, and the wider public. He added that with only four days remaining before the collective bargaining process ends, and the arbitration period begins, more than 4 million public servants are threatened with poverty and 2.5 million retirees with even deeper destitution. “The way to respond to this offer is not negotiations based on a few percentage points of salary increase, but struggle,” he said.

Keskin confirmed that they will go on a one-day strike tomorrow for a dignified life, secure employment, and a safe future.
