The Kurdistan Freedom Militia (MAK) announced that within the scope of the “Greeting the 46th Anniversary of the PKK’s Foundation and the Initiative to Expand the Freedom War”, Turkish state forces that launched an operation in Batman (Êlih) and Siirt (Sêrt) were attacked with grenades and guns, and 3 police officers were injured.’

The statement noted that the militia carried out an action in the Petrolkent neighborhood in Batman around 04:00 in the morning on 16 November.

The statement drew attention to the fact that a convoy of TEM and special operations police officers was hit, and added that a hand grenade hit the inside of a police vehicle, seriously wounding 3 police officers. The statement added that four ambulances transported the wounded to Batman State Hospital.

In addition, the statement said that on 15 November at midnight in the Alan neighborhood of Siirt an action was carried out with individual weapons against an armored vehicle belonging to the police. It was reported that a conflict broke out.

‘Let’s make this the year of victory and freedom’

The statement underlined the 46-year struggle that the PKK has been carrying out, and added: “Those who said that they would end the PKK were shaken by the determination of our organization. The colonialist Turkish state should know that we will continue to fight against occupation attempts. We call on our heroic people and freedom militias to resist with the spirit of struggle created by Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Let’s all make the 46th year of the PKK a year of victory and freedom.”
