The Culture Council of the Euphrates Canton and the Culture and Arts Movement have announced the opening of a Music School in Kobanê.
Student registration will take place at the Baqî Xido Culture and Arts Center until 15 August. On August 16–17–18, registered students will undergo interviews. The school is set to open in September at Martyr Barîn Square.
Students will receive musical instrument training from expert teachers in the field. The school will accept students between the ages of 12 and 18.
Music teacher Hisên Xanî from Kobanê spoke to ANHA News Agency and said that the music school project was submitted to the Kobanê Culture Committee three years ago. He added: “Initially, we visited schools in the city. The admission age is between 12 and 18. Students will receive all kinds of musical education. We will educate them both intellectually and practically through music.”
Highlighting that the goal of the school is to help children discover their talents, Xanî said: “Our aim is to bring our students to a level where they can receive orchestral training. We hope all children interested in art will attend the Music School.”
