NEOM has announced the launch of Hidden Marina, the first phase of its groundbreaking urban development, THE LINE. The announcement was made by NEOM’s Chief Development Officer, Denis Hickey, during the PIF Private Sector Forum in Riyadh.

Hidden Marina will span 2.5 kilometers and rise 500 meters high, featuring three interconnected modules designed to accommodate over 200,000 residents. The development will include 21 million square meters of built-up space—significantly surpassing Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, which covers 350,000 square meters.

According to Hickey, Hidden Marina represents a bold step toward re-imagining urban living. The fully integrated vertical city will be built in modular 800-meter sections, incorporating 80,000 residential units, 9,000 hotel rooms, retail spaces, and essential services such as fire stations, schools, and police facilities.

THE LINE

The ambitious project involves a workforce of over 140,000 individuals from 100 countries, with 40% of them being Saudi nationals. NEOM has secured $140 billion in infrastructure investment to support energy, water, transport, and communications systems.

Additionally, the NEOM Green Hydrogen Company is developing the world’s largest green hydrogen manufacturing facility in collaboration with ACWA Power at Oxagon, NEOM’s industrial hub. The project has also formed strategic partnerships with DSV for logistics network development, Samsung for automated rebar production, and Data Vault for an AI-powered green energy data storage facility.

THE LINE

“NEOM is not just a city—it’s an urban revolution designed to push boundaries, redefine economies, and set a new benchmark for future urban development,” Hickey stated. With construction progressing rapidly, NEOM’s vision of a futuristic, fully integrated metropolis is steadily becoming a reality.
