The Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) issued a statement on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of the Rojava Revolution, saying, “This revolution is a model of democracy for the entire Middle East and is influencing the entire region. In a Middle East mired in a multifaceted and major crisis, the democratic model implemented in Rojava has emerged as an alternative solution to problems and a model where all nations and cultural diversities can coexist within their own democratic systems. At the core of this democratic model lies the empowerment of women and the strengthening of society.”

Remarking that Syria and Rojava are going through a very sensitive period, PJAK said, “Therefore, any authoritarian and destructive external political intervention will harm society. The massacres in Syria show the fact that the fundamental solution is not to change dictatorships and deepen the crisis. The real solution lies in transforming the system’s essence from a centralized and denialist dictatorship to one where all ethnic and cultural diversities in Syria and Rojava can be secured through democratic self-governance.”

Recalling that the revolution in Rojava took place in a climate of terror created by ISIS gangs and mercenaries, PJAK stated, “For this reason, it is very valuable that Rojava and North-East Syria have been able to establish a democratic system based on the principle of coexistence of differences on a democratic basis. This system could be a model for the democratization of the Middle East, especially Iran. Of course, the democratic gains of this revolution will benefit all peoples of the Middle East. The signs of the impact of this democratization process are still present and active. The Rojava Revolution is a model for initiating democratic change in the Middle East.”

The statement concluded: “This system protects the golden pages of history. The entire Syrian society deserves a democratic and decentralized system. Furthermore, Rojava must continue to exist in stability, security, and peace, and a new future must be built for all the peoples of Syria.”
