The release of Sadık Hasan, who has been held for 30 years in Tekirdağ No. 1 Type F High-Security Closed Prison, was postponed for another three months by the Administrative and Observation Board. Hasan was taken into custody on 17 January 1995 and later arrested. On 24 June 1999, following his trial, he was sentenced to life imprisonment.
The Observation Board first convened on 8 January and delayed his release by six months, citing his refusal to accept the “remorse” policy and the nature of the charges against him. After this period expired, the board met again on 8 July. This time, it justified its decision to postpone his release by another three months based on the fact that Hasan continues to stay in the same ward with other prisoners convicted of similar charges and stated that he has no regrets regarding the offense he was accused of.
The board scheduled the next review of Sadık Hasan’s release for 9 October.
