Salma Hayek is preparing to bring together some of Hollywood’s biggest names for a high-profile fundraising event in New York City aimed at supporting efforts to end gender-based violence.
The acclaimed actress will host the fifth annual Caring for Women Dinner on September 10 at The Pool in Manhattan. Organized through the Kering Foundation, the event is expected to attract influential figures from the worlds of entertainment, sports, fashion, and art while raising critical funds for organizations working to protect women and vulnerable communities.
Joining Hayek as co-hosts are actress Pamela Anderson, Olympic gymnastics champion Simone Biles, Academy Award winner Benicio Del Toro, actor Dakota Johnson, renowned polo player Nacho Figueras, and celebrated artist Lorna Simpson.
One of the evening’s highlights will be a live auction featuring exclusive luxury pieces from prestigious fashion houses within the Kering portfolio, including Gucci, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, McQueen, and Bottega Veneta. Previous editions of the fundraiser have generated millions of dollars to support programs focused on preventing gender-based violence, with last year’s event raising more than $4.5 million.
This year’s proceeds will benefit four nonprofit organizations: Activating Change, Fondo Semillas, JBWS, and The New York Women’s Foundation, all of which work to provide assistance, advocacy, and resources for survivors while promoting long-term social change.
Hayek and her husband, Kering Chairman François-Henri Pinault, established the Caring for Women Dinner as part of the Kering Foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that address violence against women. Over the years, the annual gathering has become one of the fashion and entertainment industry’s leading philanthropic events, bringing together influential voices in support of a shared humanitarian mission.
Beyond her acting career, Hayek has remained actively involved in charitable work and has frequently used her platform to advocate for women’s rights and social causes. She has often emphasized that her relationship with Pinault is rooted in mutual respect and personal connection rather than public perception surrounding wealth and status.
The couple first met in 2006, became engaged the following year, and welcomed their daughter, Valentina, in 2007.
