Efforts to declare a permanent truce in the Manbij and Kobanê regions were unsuccessful.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Media Center issued a statement saying that “the US-led mediation efforts to declare a permanent truce in the Manbij and Kobanê regions were unsuccessful due to Turkey’s approach in dealing with the mediation efforts and its evasion to accept key points.”
According to the statement, “the points included the transfer of the remaining Manbij Military Council fighters and the resolution of the issue concerning the transfer of Suleiman Shah’s remains to their former location.
Despite US efforts to stop the war, Turkey and its mercenary militias have continued to escalate over the last period.”
