The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) announced the balance sheet of the seven days of brutal clashes between Bedouin tribal fighters backed by the Syrian Defence and Interior Ministries on one side, and local Druze fighters in Suwayda on the other.

Accordingly, the death toll has reached 1,311, including 196 executed. The fatalities are distributed as follows:

● 637 from Suwayda province, including 104 civilians, among them six children and 16 women.

● 456 members of the Ministry of Defence and General Security forces, including 32 Bedouin tribesmen and an armed individual of Lebanese nationality.

● 15 members of the Ministries of Defence and Interior were killed in Israeli airstrikes.

● Three individuals, including a woman and two unidentified persons, were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting the Ministry of Defence building.

● A journalist was killed during the clashes.

● 196 individuals, including 28 women, eight children, and an elderly man, were executed by gunmen affiliated with the Ministries of Defence and Interior.

● Three members of Bedouin tribes, including a woman and a child, were executed by Druze militants.

SOHR reported that the calm situation has continued on the frontlines since July 21, with limited violations since the agreement, which includes a ceasefire guaranteed by the United States, came into effect.

On the other hand, the tribal groups are attempting to advance towards Qanawat, “the birthplace and home of Sheikh Al-Hijri,” seen as a symbol of the Druze community. The clashes left four tribal fighters dead during their attempt to advance towards Um Al-Zaytoun.

The observatory called for an international investigation into Suwayda crimes and accountability for all parties responsible.
