Members of general security forces of Syria’s transitional government arrested a Kurdish young man from the predominantly-Kurdish village of Tel Arran in the southern countryside of Aleppo, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported.

According to SOHR, the young man was arrested for “listening to Kurdish songs,” while he was in his uncle’s auto store in the village.

The young man was taken to the headquarters of general security forces in Al-Saferah city in the southern countryside of Aleppo, where he is still arbitrarily detained.

SOHR stated that the young man had left Syria at the onset of the conflict, and he was on a visit to his hometown to visit his family. He was planning to return to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq on Friday after the end of his vacation,
