The Free Women’s Movement (Tevgera Jinên Aza-TJA) made a written statement against the imprisonment of Sevtap Akdağ, Deputy Co-Chair of the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) and Nimet Tanrıkulu, one of the founders of the Human Rights Association (IHD).
Making a written statement titled ‘Our common women’s struggle cannot be prosecuted, TJA stated the following:
“The aim of these operations is to disrupt our women’s struggle and the struggle for democracy. However, the nation state, which cannot cope with the crises it has created, will not be able to get out of the deadlock it has entered in the Middle East through attacks on women’s struggle. Those who try to rule the country with the isolation regime will take their place in the dusty pages of history, while our women’s struggle will be remembered even centuries later with its strength and determination.”
