Military Operations Teams (TOL) affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) carried out an operation against an ISIS cell in the city of al-Hol, capturing two members of the group.
According to a statement by the YPG, TOL, with the support of the International Coalition, carried out a security operation on 9 August 2025, in the city of al-Hol, south of Hesekê in the Cizîrê Canton.
The statement said: “On 9 August 2025, TOL, with the support of the International Coalition, carried out a security operation in the city of al-Hol, south of Hesekê. The operation targeted a cell involved in the transfer and management of ISIS’s financial and logistical network.
During the operation, two members of the group, Saad Muxlif al-Huseyn (Abu Sayf) and Mihemed Shakir Muxlif, were captured.”
The YPG noted that the operation was part of the SDF’s determined efforts to track ISIS cells, disrupt their activities, and protect the local population from terrorist threats.
