The Turkish state increased its attacks on South Kurdistan in 2025. Airstrikes target civilian settlements, villages and their surroundings, while villagers are being forced to leave their homes. In fact, due to the intensified attacks, the villagers are losing their livelihoods. They cannot go to their vineyards and gardens to work.

The KDP has banned entry and exit to the villages until further notice, and the roads are being bombed by howitzers and warplanes, something that prevents people from leaving the villages.

Villagers believe that the main reason for the problems they are experiencing is the partnership between the KDP and the Turkish state, and protest the attacks.
