Supermodel Yasmin Le Bon is embracing a new chapter as a hands-on grandmother, sharing her south-west London home with daughter Amber Le Bon, son-in-law Ben, and one-year-old grandson Sasha. As Amber prepares to move back into her own flat following renovations, the family reflects on an extended period of living under one roof that has deepened already close bonds.

Amber has lived with Yasmin and father Simon Le Bon since she gave birth in 2025

Amber, 36, has been staying with her parents since giving birth in early 2025. What began as a temporary arrangement stretched into a longer stay, allowing Sasha to grow up surrounded by grandparents. With building work now complete and Sasha ready for his own bedroom, the transition back to independent living is imminent.

Although the move marks a shift, the family insists it is not a separation. Yasmin says she expects to see her grandson constantly, while Amber recalls Sasha’s recent first birthday at the end of January as a lively celebration filled with laughter and family.

A New Generation

For Yasmin, 61, becoming a grandmother has been transformative. She describes daily interactions with Sasha — even their wordless “conversations” — as a source of joy. Watching Amber step into motherhood has been equally emotional. She speaks candidly about the pride she feels seeing her daughter embrace a role she long hoped for.

Amber, a model and DJ, calls motherhood “heaven,” acknowledging both the challenges and the fleeting nature of early childhood. She hopes Sasha will eventually have a sibling, adding that expanding her family is something she would welcome.

‘Every day is a blessing,’ Yasmin says of her grandchildren

Yasmin and her husband, Simon Le Bon, have been married for four decades. The couple became grandparents for the first time in 2018 through their daughter Saffron, who has three children and lives nearby. Yasmin jokes that she plays the stricter figure at home, insisting on manners, while Simon — whom she affectionately calls “Princess” — is the softer presence. The nickname, she says, suits his warm and playful personality.

The grandchildren, she adds, are devoted to the Duran Duran frontman, though Sasha will have to wait before joining a tour bus. For now, the cables and equipment make backstage life unsuitable for toddlers.

Amber credits her parents’ enduring relationship as a model for her own. Growing up amid the demands of fame felt normal at the time, including summers spent travelling with her father’s band. Only later did she realise how unusual that upbringing had been.

From Runways to Real Life

Yasmin, one of the highest-earning models of the 1980s, recalls balancing a fast-paced career with raising young children. Determined to instil discipline, she set firm standards at home during years that were professionally intense.

One of her favourite memories with Amber dates back to 1991, when her daughter — then just 20 months old — unexpectedly joined her on the runway at a Karl Lagerfeld-led Chanel show. What began as a fitting-room moment turned into a memorable appearance that fashion insiders still reference.

‘It’s heaven’, Amber says of motherhood.

Today, mother and daughter are collaborating again, fronting a new denim campaign for George at Asda titled Believe in Denim. The collection, available online and in selected stores in sizes 8 to 24 and priced between £18 and £26, highlights versatile wardrobe staples.

Yasmin champions denim as ageless and inclusive, dismissing rigid dress codes. Her philosophy is simple: clothing should bring happiness. Amber echoes that practicality matters, particularly as a parent. She would rather prioritise spending on her son than invest heavily in designer jeans.

Amber also rejects the pressure many new mothers face to return quickly to pre-pregnancy clothing sizes, focusing instead on restoring nutrients depleted during pregnancy.

Changing Times

Yasmin’s fashion advice? ‘Dress to make yourself happy’

Reflecting on her early modelling career, Yasmin describes an industry that was far less sensitive than it is today. Casual remarks about appearance were common, prompting her to develop resilience. Now in her sixties, she speaks openly about navigating menopause and believes broader understanding — particularly among men — remains essential.

Looking ahead, Amber hopes the coming year will be defined by moments of joy, however small they may be. Yasmin’s wishes are characteristically grounded: a secure fence, a gate to keep the dog from wandering off, and time for needlepoint.

The pair are also set to appear on a special Mother’s Day episode of the podcast Second Act, available across major streaming platforms.
